Hello there, fellow Stilters! It’s time for another update, and we’re excited to share a little bit about our upcoming album, “OMG”. As the name suggests, this new project celebrates the Greek Pantheon—those ancient gods and goddesses whose stories continue to captivate us all. In true SixFootStilts fashion, we’re exploring these ancient mythical legends with a modern twist in a way that’s both unique and engaging.
For the last 8 years we’ve partnered together with Sly leading the way as songwriter, guitarist, Midi master and music production, Lote our wordsmith, songwriter, lead vocalist and sometimes guitarist and myself (JawnyB) songwriter, bassist, pretend guitarist (also leading our post production work and promotion). We feel we have created some amazing and engaging music to create immersive musical experiences. On “OMG”, our latest creative endeavour, each of us has contributed our talents to bring these mythical stories to life. We planned to push our boundaries to craft something adventurous that will transport you to their mythical world.
One of the standout elements of this album is Sly’s artistic use of sound effects. You’ll find the tracks on “OMG” featuring sounds that capture the essence of these mythic beings:
- Zeus: The king of the gods commands the skies with thunder. Guitar riffs complemented by the rumble of thunder that will leave you feeling empowered by the sheer energy.
- God Only Knows: This track features majestic church bells, adding a celestial layer to the music that perfectly captures the elevated grandeur and mystique of the divine.
- Dionysus: In tribute to the god of wine and festivities, he’s infused the song with lively party sounds. This creates a fun, celebratory atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re right there reveling with the gods.
- Oh Athena: For the goddess of wisdom, he’s included ethereal sounds from the sky, creating a track that’s both thought-provoking and dynamic. Listen closely and you might feel Athena’s wise guidance echoing above the music.
- Even the Gods: This introspective track features whispered vocals that invite you into the secret councils of the gods. The effect is subtle yet incredibly engaging, contributing to a sense of playful intrigue as you listen for hidden meanings.
- Theia: Representing the goddess of light, integrated shimmering sound effects that reflect her luminous presence. The result is a track that’s empowering, like basking in the warmth of divine sunlight.
- Dianna: With wind and the swoosh of arrows, the goddess of the hunt comes alive in this track. These effects add an earthy feel to the music, making the listening experience both grounded and adventurous.
We’ve put our hearts and souls into every aspect of “OMG”. Each of us has worked diligently to ensure that this album is as creative and captivating as possible. We’re combining mythological storytelling with our passion for sound design to create songs that not only narrate ancient tales but also encourage listeners to immerse themselves fully in the music.
We can’t wait to share this album with you when it’s released in 2025. In the meantime, I’ll be dropping little teasers along the way, whether it’s a snippet of thunder from “Zeus” or the party sounds of “Dionysus,” to give you a taste of what’s to come. We’re aiming to make the wait fun and exciting for all Stilters.
