Soundquest

SoundQuest Studio

Started in late 2009 and completed in spring 2010, SoundQuest Studio has been the creative sanctuary for SixFootStilts, providing a dual-purpose facility for both practice and recording. Nestled in a comfortable ravine setting with a homey environment, this studio has become a cornerstone for the band’s musical journey.

SoundQuest Studio is thoughtfully designed to cater to the varied needs of music production. The facility boasts a well-equipped control room, a dedicated vocal booth, a guitar room, and a spacious live room tailored for bass and drums. This setup ensures an optimal recording environment, capturing the essence of each instrument and vocal with precision.

The studio is powered by the robust Studio One software by PreSonus, coupled with a StudioLive 24-track mixing board. Additionally, the Scarlett 4-track audio interface provides versatility and high-quality audio capture, ensuring every recording session meets professional standards. These tools, combined with the studio’s acoustically treated rooms, create a perfect blend of technology and artistry.

Renovated in January 2024, SoundQuest Studio exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a comfortable space for creativity to flourish. As the primary sound engineer and bassist for SixFootStilts, JawnyB brings his extensive experience and passion for music into every project. His dual role ensures a seamless blend of technical expertise and musical intuition, resulting in recordings that truly resonate.

Before the rise of SixFootStilts, the studio was home to the band Return To Zero, who recorded two albums within its walls. This rich history of musical endeavors has laid a solid foundation for SoundQuest Studio’s reputation as a hub for artistic expression and sonic excellence.

With numerous successful projects and a commitment to continuous improvement, SoundQuest Studio remains at the forefront of home recording facilities. It stands as a testament to the dedication and talent of SixFootStilts, providing a reliable and inspiring space for the band’s ongoing musical explorations.

Whether it’s rehearsing new tracks or capturing the magic of a live recording session, SoundQuest Studio is the heartbeat of SixFootStilts, driving the band’s creative vision and musical innovation forward.
